"JAMES O'KANE, the honored father of TULIUS CLINTON O'KANE was born in Virginia in 1805, and in the Old Dominion spent his youthful days. When about 20 he came to Fairfield County, Ohio. His parents were Scotch-Irish and were both born in the north of Ireland. In Fairfield County, he was engaged in the Mercantile business until 1838, when he moved to Franklin County, ten miles east of columbus, continuing there in the same occupation, and from that place in 1849 moved to Columbus, where he was in business for 15 years. His next and last move was to Licking County, Ohio. His death occured in 1869 at the age of 64 years. His wife was JULIA, nee WILLIAMS. She was a native of northern New York, born in 1810. They were married in 1829 and her death occured in 1860." See Chart 7A.

ISSUE:
1, TULIUS CLINTON, born 10-Mar-1830 in Pickerington, Ohio. Married 14-July-1853 in Delaware County to LAURA A. EATON, the daughter of Hon James and Elizabeth (Caulkins) Eaton. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1849 and remained as Tutor of Mathematics until 1857. He was Principal over 14 Districts in the Cincinnati Schol system. He was connected with the Philip Philip and Company Music Store in Cincinnati. Later owened a Book and Music Store in Delaware, Ohio under the name of T. C. O'Kane & Wells. During his lifetime he wrote and published many Religious Books and Songs. He died 19-Feb-1912 and is buried in Delaware, Ohio.
2. JOHN SEYMOUR, born 2-Oct-1832 and died 21-May-1866. The grave is in the Pickerington Cemetery in the rear of the Dovel Church in Fairfield County, Ohio. Inscription reads "son of JAMES & JULIA O'KANE."
